Motley Crue Biopic Taps Jackass Director

Jeff Tremaine, the director of the recently released Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, will direct The Dirt, the film adaptation of the wildly popular Motley Crue autobiography.

According to Deadline, the film will center on "big hair, big sound, big money, big brawls, scandals and debauchery, and the inevitable big problems caused by drugs, drink, and living and breathing the rock-and-roll lifestyle as the quartet rose from playing local clubs on Hollywood's Sunset Strip to touring the world as global rock stars."

In 2011, Rob Zombie was attached to the picture, after drummer Tommy Lee suggested it during an interview with Billboard. Zombie, however, denied the rumor.

Tremaine hooked up with the Jackass crew back in the 90s, shooting many of the stunts that were later featured in the MTV show.
