Lou Reed left the majority his estate to his wife Laurie Anderson and his sister, after dying October 27 of liver-transplant complications at the age of 71.
According to CBS, Reed left his Manhattan penthouse, his home in East Hampton and much of his estate to Anderson, while his sister got about a quarter of the estate plus a $500,000 bequest aimed at caring for their mother.
Last week, Anderson wrote a tribute to her departed husband, noting the peaceful circumstances in which he passed:
"Lou was a tai chi master and spent his last days here being happy and dazzled by the beauty and power and softness of nature. He died on Sunday morning looking at the trees and doing the famous 21 form of tai chi with just his musician hands moving through the air."
