Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell Reveals He's In Remission

Vivian Campbell, guitarist for Def Leppard and Last In Line, has announced that he is cancer-free.

The 51-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier in the year and underwent chemotherapy in April for the disease. He has now revealed: "After doing another PET scan and all the other follow-up tests, then getting a second opinion etc, I'm officially in remission from Hodgies."

He joked: "That's the good news. The bad news is I no longer have an excuse to not go to the gym."

Campbell worked on his Last In Line album (with ex-members of the band Dio) and performed shows at the Def Leppard residency in Las Vegas over the summer but did not tour as planned with Last In Line.

He said of his diagnosis at the time: "I feel fortunate that my cancer sent me an alarm call in the form of 'the cough that wouldn't quit.'"
