Journey has donated $350,000 to the Philippine typhoon relief effort. The group, whose lead singer, Arnel Pineda, is Filipino, directed the money to the United Nations World Food Programme, which is providing Filipinos with food assistance. The much-needed donation hopes to provide 1.4 million meals.
"We're honored to have Journey's support and Arnel Pineda's leadership on this incredible donation for WFP's emergency relief in the Philippines," said Hunter Biden of World Food Program USA in a statement on Journey's Facebook page.
"Their support is going to make a real difference for so many Filipino children and families in need."
Journey has also set up a "Don't stop believin' in the Phillipines" page at World Food Program website which their fans can contribute to. The band is hoping to raise another $50,000 there.
The Philippines were devastated by Typhoon Haiyan earlier this month, which has left more than 3,600 dead and displaced 600,000, according to authorities.
