Lou Reed Biography In The Works

Anthony DeCurtis, rock critic for Rolling Stone magazine, is planning to release a biography of the recently deceased Lou Reed.

According to Billboard, Little, Brown and Co. are publishing the book, which promises to give "the inside story" on Reed's life and times. DeCurtis interviewed Reed several times and wrote the liner notes for an anthology of songs by the Velvet Underground.

Reed founded the influential Velvet Underground with John Cale in New York City during the 1960s. While it never sold a substantial number of albums, the group - known in part for its ties to famed artist Andy Warhol - became an important inspiration for future acts. Reed died from liver failure on Oct. 27, following a liver transplant in May.

The book is currently untitled and doesn't yet have a release date.
