Elton John, Paul McCartney and Bon Jovi all made the cut on Forbes magazine's list of highest paid musicians. BJ was the third highest paid ($79 million), while Elton came in ninth ($54) and Macca was twelfth ($47).
According to Forbes, the Rocket Man made a bundle the old fashioned way - on the road:
"The ageless [John] continues to cash in on the road, averaging over $1 million per city per night. He released new album Diving Board-his first solo effort in seven years-after the end of our scoring period; with more touring planned from Las Vegas to Moscow, he's poised for another big year in 2014."
To come up with the list, Forbes "took into account concert ticket sales, royalties for recorded music and publishing, merchandise sales, endorsement deals, and other business ventures."
