During his recent show in Moscow, Elton John didn't hold back from criticizing the country's laws against so-called homosexual propaganda. The Rocket Man stopped his concert to speak out against the legislation, which was signed by Vladimir Putin last June.
"I am deeply saddened and shocked over the current legislation that is now in place against the [gay] community here in Russia," Elton began.
"In my opinion, it is inhumane and it is isolating. Harmony is what makes a happy family and a strong society."
Following his speech, John dedicated a tune to Vladislav Tornovoi, a 23-year-old Russian who was tortured and murdered earlier this year for being gay.
Lady Gaga and Madonna have both been involved with gay propaganda-related lawsuits following performances in the country this year.
