While in Massachusetts for a concert, Rod Stewart asked a shopkeep for his signature. Rod, a model train hobbyist, stopped at the store, Fine Scale Miniatures in Peabody, to check out its selection of wares, and wound up asking the owner, George Sellios, for his signature.
According to ABC, Sellios is "legendary in [train hobbyist] circles," and Stewart was reportedly "in awe" when they finally met.
"He was so down to Earth. It's incredible. He was just like a little kid running around here, going from spot to spot. Just so natural," Sellios told NBC of Stewart.
"He gave me the biggest hug I ever got. I ended up kissing the guy 'cause I got so excited: he's Rod Stewart, you know?"
Before he left, Rod gifted Sellios a pair of tickets to his show in Boston.
