Aerosmith's Joe Perry To Release Autobiography In 2014

Aerosmith's Joe Perry has announced plans to release an autobiography next year.

For the book, entitled Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith, Perry is working with co-writer David Ritz, who's helped write books for Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Etta James and B.B. King.

"People have been asking me about it for the last probably five or 10 years," Perry tells Blabbermouth.

"I'll definitely take a different path than the other guys, the way they put their books together. I read probably 40 biographies and autobiographies, musical ones. I can see how some worked and some didn't. I hope this one works. There's a lot to fit into 600 pages or whatever it's gonna be. I'm pretty excited."

Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith is due on store shelves October 5, 2014. Rocks is the third memoir from an Aerosmith member, following books published by Steven Tyler and drummer Joey Kramer. Bassist Tom Hamilton is also reportedly at work on his own autobiography.
