Doobie Brothers Elected To Ultimate Classic Rock Hall Of Fame

Doobie Brothers have been elected into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame. The classic rock website has been inducting new members into their HOF each month via an elimination showdown in which fans vote for their favorite class rock stalwarts.

The Doobies are the December 2013 winners. They beat out ZZ Top to grab the honor with 64.35% of the vote.

UCR pointed to the group's distinguished career as the reason for their landslide victory over ZZ Top. Founded in 1970 by drummer John Hartman, bassist Dave Shogren, and guitarists/songwriters Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, the group would go on to put out 13 studio albums and record a number of hits in both the 1970s and 1980s, including "Listen to the Music," "Jesus is Just Alright With Me," and "The Doctor."

Previous inductees include the Faces (November 2013) and Rod Stewart (October 2013).
