Both Iggy Pop and Joe Walsh have signed on to appear at this year's annual Tibet House benefit concert. The event is scheduled to take place on March 11 at Carnegie Hall in New York and will benefit Tibet House U.S., which raises money and awareness for the preservation of Tibetan culture.
Last year's benefit drew a host of big-name performers including Patti Smith, Tenzin Choegyal, Tune-Yards, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Ariel Pink and Rahzel.
"When you get to the point where people are lighting themselves on fire just to protest, it seems like it's a very horrible place to live," Tune-Yards bassist Nate Brenner told Rolling Stone of the ongoing China-Tibet conflict.
"We just wanted to do what we could to raise awareness of it."
