Def Leppard's Joe Elliot is slated to produce the second record by Black Star Riders, a band featuring former Thin Lizzy members. The singer will join Def Leppard producer Ronan McHugh to work on the LP.
Ricky Warwick, Black Star fronter, said of the band's producers on the upcoming album:
"Joe Elliott's passion, enthusiasm for music - as a fan, artist and friend - is unquestionable, and Ronan McHugh is a phenomenal engineer. Personally having worked with these guys before, it was a no-brainer when they said they would like to produce the new BSR album."
McHugh worked on last year's All Hell Breaks Loose, while Elliott worked on the 2011 reissue of Thin Lizzy's 1976 album Jailbreak and on the first two solo albums by Ricky Warwick.
The lineup for Black Star Riders currently includes guitarists Scott Gorham and Damon Johnson, bassist Marco Mendoza and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso.
