Neil Young will release the live 1973 album Time Fades Away on Record Store Day. The LP has been out of print since its initial release. The performance features Young along with his former backing band, the Stray Gators.
The record will not be available by itself, but as part of a four vinyl LP set including On the Beach, Zuma and Tonight's the Night. Production of the set will be limited to 3,500 copies.
"My least favorite record is Time Fades Away. I think it's the worst record I ever made-but as a documentary of what was happening to me, it was a great record. I was onstage and I was playing all these songs that nobody had heard before, recording them, and I didn't have the right band. It was just an uncomfortable tour," Young told an interviewer of the record in the 80s.
Time Fades Away will be available on 180 gram black vinyl April 19.
