U2 have shut down rumors that they are experiencing extended delays in the recording of their new album. Rumors of persistent album delays arose earlier this month after an unnamed source told the Guardian that the band had replaced producer Danger Mouse with Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth.
"It seems to be taking longer for them to finish an album as they get older," the source said.
"The great thing about U2 is that the whole of a record is always better than the sum of its parts. That magic that the band always seems to capture . . . they have yet to capture it."
The band's reps issued an official statement shutting down the rumor: "U2's album is planned for this year, is still on track and touring plans haven't been confirmed yet."
