The former children's field that inspired the Beatles song "Strawberry Fields Forever" may be reopened after nearly a decade of closure. According to the BBC, the Liverpool building may be converted into a "training center for people with learning difficulties."
"It's about enhancing the lives of young people, preparing them for work and giving them a work-based training centre," Drew McCombe of the Salvation Army told the BBC.
He noted that the plans are currently in an "early consultation stage" but the organization intends to submit an application to Liverpool City Council next month.
In addition to the training center the plans call for a café where the young can train in catering and hospitality techniques.
