Neal Schon Says Steve Perry Wanted Journey To 'Sit Still And Not Do Anything'

Journey guitarist Neal Schon has spoken out following the dissolution of the band's rumored reunion with original singer Steve Perry. Talking to Classic Rock magazine, Schon said that Perry left the group in the mid 90s of his own accord:

"He chose not to perform. He didn't want to sing with us. He didn't want to do a record. He didn't want to do anything. That was pretty much where he was at. And he wanted us to sit still and not do anything too."

Schon added that he still has fond memories of working with Perry:

"Steve and I had some really amazing times together - when we first got together, and for years after that. He was a very funny guy, and he liked to party with the best of us . . . We were very tight and close for years and years."
