Former Journey singer Steve Perry recently hit the stage alongside alternative rockers Eels. The unexpected collaboration occurred during the Eels concert at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 25.
After Perry took the stage, Eels immediately ripped into covers of the Journey classics "Open Arms," and "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin."
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the audience welcomed Perry whole heartedly, singing along to both performances.
Perry also made recent headlines when guitarist Neal Schon spoke out following the dissolution of the band's rumored reunion. Talking to Classic Rock magazine, Schon said that Perry left the group in the mid 90s of his own accord, but that he still has fond memories of him:
"Steve and I had some really amazing times together - when we first got together, and for years after that. He was a very funny guy, and he liked to party with the best of us . . . We were very tight and close for years and years."
