Iggy Pop Gets Apology From Amnesty International For Justin Bieber Torture Ad

Amnesty International has apologized to Iggy Pop for using his image without authorization. The human rights advocate promoted its new slogan - "Torture a man, and he will tell you anything" - with ads of beaten up celebs.

Pop's lacerated face was captioned by the phrase "The future of rock & roll is Justin Bieber."

Iggy tweeted a link to Amnesty's apology, which read in part:

"To generate awareness about our campaign against torture, [we] used an image of Iggy Pop without his authorization. Even though we acted in good faith, we would like to apologise to Iggy Pop for having done so. We would therefore also like to make it clear that the statement attributed to Iggy Pop that he believes Justin Bieber is the future of rock and roll does not represent Iggy Pop's personal opinion but was part of the creative process for this campaign and was intended to be ironic."

Iggy never did publicly chastise the organization for the use of his image.
