The Steve Miller Band and Journey postponed their show in Chicago that was supposed to take place at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre last Saturday night.
A post put up on Journey's Facebook earlier in the day notified fans of the postponement:
"The rain received this morning has caused flooding both in the parking lots of the venue, which completely prevents us from parking the volume of cars expected, as well as to a number of surrounding feeder streets, creating extreme difficulty in getting to the venue," the statement reads.
The statement went on to say, "The National Weather Service has recently extended a flash flood watch until 1:00 pm Sunday, with a forecasted potential of one inch of rainfall per hour to start at approximately 7:00 pm. After consulting with the local police department, and keeping the safety of all visitors and staff in mind, the difficult decision to postpone the event has been made."
Both bands say that they hope to reschedule the show as soon as possible.
