Mark David Chapman, the man who shot and killed John Lennon, has said he is "sorry for being such an idiot." Chapman was recently denied parole and a transcript from the hearing has now been released.
"I am sorry for causing that type of pain. I am sorry for being such an idiot and choosing the wrong way for glory," he said during the hearing, according to The Independent.
"Many, many people loved him. He was a great and talented man and they are still hurting. I get letters so that's a major factor. It's not a regular crime."
He will now remain in prison for at least two more years after being denied parole during his latest hearing on August 20. It was Chapman's eighth failed parole request.
